“The BVRC Ladies and Kids Roundtable” on the BVRC Twin Linked Repeatersystem”

The development of this new evening online Roundtable is designed to create a
welcoming, inclusive space for women and children in our community to connect, learn,
and engage with amateur radio in a fun and supportive environment. The Roundtable
will focus on: 

  • Building Community: Providing a platform for ladies and kids to share experiences, ask questions, and build friendships through radio
    communications. 
  • Education and Fun: Topics could include beginner-friendly radio basics, family-oriented activities, emergency preparedness tips tailored for families, and light-hearted discussions to make radio accessible and enjoyable. 
  • Inclusivity: Encouraging participation from all skill levels, with a special emphasis on empowering women and young operators to take the mic.

Why This Announcement? 

  1. Advertise the Net: We’re spreading the word to generate interest and excitement!
    If you’re a woman or have kids interested in radio, this is your invitation to join.
    Whether you’re a seasoned operator or just curious, all licensed amateurs are
    welcome. 
  2. Call for Volunteers: We are seeking enthusiastic women from our club (or
    beyond) who would like to help lead and guide this Roundtable. Your involvement
    could include:  
    • Co-hosting the Roundtable and facilitating discussions. 
    • Planning topics, activities, and events within the nets. 
    • Mentoring new participants and promoting the net within the club and community.

    Details about the day and time will be determined as the Roundtable is developed.
    If you’re passionate about amateur radio and want to make a difference in growing our
    diverse membership, please reach out! No prior leadership experience is required – just
    a positive attitude and willingness to contribute.
